National Palace (Sintra, Portugal)

September 30, 2018

Sintra, Portugal has enough impressive palaces and houses to keep someone occupied for well beyond a day.  The National Palace, pictured here, is the easiest sight to get to and requires the least hiking.  Often overlooked for the more famous Pena Palace or the jaw-dropping views offered by the city's Moorish Castle, the National Palace has its own merits and is definitely worth a peak.  The double kitchen chimneys which dominate the castle's exterior appearance look like upside-down funnels and are interesting to inspect from the opposite angle inside of the castle, as well.
