Venice is known as one of the most romantic cities in the world for good reason; scenes like this are the norm. The summer months can bring a city inundated with tourists, though, dampening some of the magic. In the early spring (this photo was taken in mid-March), it may be a bit chilly, but you will be rewarded with significantly fewer crowds, giving you a chance to enjoy the historic buildings lining the canals in peace as they rival one another in beauty.
