The Rock of Gibraltar–you read about it everywhere from the Bible to ancient Greek Mythology. I didn’t even know where it was until I was planning a trip to Spain and read about it in my guide book. So, of course, I had to see it. Gibraltar is quite unique with its tiny spot of Britain in the midst of Spain. It was a bit odd, though, to be speaking Spanish to my bus driver one minute as we approached the border and then getting off, walking a few feet, and getting on a different bus and speaking English with that driver. While we couldn’t get to the very top (the cable cars were closed due to high winds), we did get to take a taxi up as high as it was allowed to take us, and that was high enough to enjoy the view.
